One of my most anticipated games, Prototype by Sierra, is now delayed until 2009. That’s a bummer but I guess I’d rather have a great game than a half-finished one. Let’s hope they use the extra time wisely.

Ubisoft announced that there will be a new Prince of Persia to be released this Fall. It will be available for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. As someone who has played almost all of the past games, I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how they pull this on next gen hardware. The game should also come with a new illustrative art style.

Epic’s outspoken vice president Mark Rein was recently asked why the console version of Unreal Tournament 3 significantly slower than the PC version. Here’s what he had to say:

“When you play Halo on PC, you notice the difference too, yeah? This is also the reason why we don’t have cross-platform play, between PC and PS3, because you have got to make some compromises for each platform. But you play Halo on console and you find that it’s slower too, right…they have to be slower, because your fingers are just not as precise as your whole arm, right? To me the movement and speed as a console gamer is just right.”

So, if you notice a speed difference between console and PC, it’s intentional.

Ubisoft just announced the upcoming sequel to the awesome hit, Rainbow Six Vegas. Looks like we’ll be hitting the streets of Sin City one more time with a new single player story. Ubisoft is also stating they’ll have “some surprises” in their versus and co-op modes.

“Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas has been the effect of a bomb in the world of video gaming in 2006 [and 2007 for PS3], by introducing in one fell swoop technological advance and innovation in terms gameplay,” said Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot, in a French press release.

“We are confident that Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will also pioneer in the field of highly competitive shooters and delight fans of the Rainbow Six brand.”

This is slated for a March 2008 release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
