Rock Band has finally been confirmed for the Wii by EA CEO John Riccitiello. No release date yet but it’s been speculated that it’ll come out later this year or early 2009.

One of the best fighting games of all time is now available on Nintendo’s Virtual Console. Nintendo has updated its Virtual Console today with 3 more games, Eternal Champions, Dynastic Hero and ZANAC. I haven’t played the other 2 but Eternal Champions is great. What are you waiting for? Start fighting!

Hideous name, and less-than-hideous hardware. CYBER Gadget’s “Familator Lite” plugs into a DS Lite’s GBA slot, allowing users to insert their Famicom cartridges and re-live their favorite Nintendo classics in portable form.

Would rather re-live the classics on television? The device allows for TV out. Would rather play with the original Famicom controllers? Well… the device doesn’t do that, actually. But it does that other stuff!

The Familator Lite is due out in Japan in December, but no price has been set. Sadly, the device’s form factor means it’s only compatible with the DS Lite, and not its phatter older brother.

Media Create, the Japanese chart trackers, reported that 251,000 units were sold of Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii in its first week out. This is just shy of the 265,000 Mario Party 8 sold in its first week.

I found this interesting over at Joystiq. What is up with these games lately missing, what should be, the most basic of requirements?
