COD4 Map Pack out tomorrow!

Just a reminder to get your Variety Map Pack for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare tomorrow.

The Variety Map Pack includes four new multiplayer maps. “Creek” is a wide-open village ravaged by combat where concealment is the difference between life and death. In “Broadcast,” fight throughout an enemy communications building with confined corridors and wide-open parking lots. “Chinatown” is a foggy downtown district, lit only by a full moon and the neon glow of the city. “Killhouse” features a desolate training warehouse filled with a variety of building mock-ups and soft and hard cover points.

Call of Duty 4 map packs coming

PS3Vault recently posted some comments by Infinity Ward on their upcoming map packs.

From Infinity Ward - “People who want open maps are going to be happy with this map pack. People who want more indoor locales are going to be happy with this map pack. People who want something completely different from what they’re currently playing are going to be happy with this map pack. We plan on supporting our game for a very long time. As I said, we have a large community. We’re currently number one on Xbox LIVE, so we have a lot of people playing. We’re going to continue to support the community that keeps supporting us. We have a lot of cool ideas that we’re working on, and we’re going to keep making maps until we’re done.”

Call of Duty 4 online problems fixed!

Infinity Ward has finally come up with the solution to the online problems that have plagued the popular Call of Duty 4 since last week.

The online component of the game started to fall apart last week due to the sheer number of enlisted players online.

But Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward’s community relation’s manager, stated that things should now be back to normal and players could resume once again to their favourite killing activities.

“You should no longer be receiving this error message or any other issues related to the firmware update in the game. Thank you to everyone for giving us the heads up on this so we could start tracking down answers, and getting it resolved and please let us know if you have any additional issues.”

After the problems came to a head last week, the company announced that it was “upgrading all server hardware as well as dedicated an individual database to each functionality to improve performance and handle the traffic hitting the servers”.

Problems were increased yesterday when Sony launched its PS3 firmware 2.01, which resulted in gamers complaining that the online mode of COD4 died on them ever since upgrading to the firmware.
