Ubisoft announced that there will be a new Prince of Persia to be released this Fall. It will be available for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. As someone who has played almost all of the past games, I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how they pull this on next gen hardware. The game should also come with a new illustrative art style.
According to LucasArts, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will be hitting stores on September 16. The game is looking super nice. It’s currently available for pre-order on sites like Amazon.
Check out a video I found on GameTrailers showing off some of the lightsaber moves:
You’ll be playing as the apprentice of Darth Vader in this game. The first level is also supposed to have you playing as Darth Vader himself!
Unreal Tournament 3 is scheduled to launch this summer for the Xbox 360. The 360 version will sport some exclusive offerings:
two new characters
five new expansive maps
split screen capability
The biggest disappointment however is that Midway and Epic are saying that the Xbox 360 release won’t come with an editor for user-created content, which means you won’t be able to build custom maps, and also won’t be able to play any of the user created maps by PS3 and PC owners. That’s what I was looking forward to the most. Being able to build and play my own map on a console would be so sweet! Looks like I’m getting the PS3 version.
For those of you looking forward to the next Midnight Club game must be excited, Midnight Club: Los Angeles is set to hit the streets on September 9th in North America and the 12th in Europe for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
The virtual world “Home” for the PS3 is once again delayed. Originally scheduled for a Fall 2007 release, it was delayed until Spring 2008. Well, as of today, it’s delayed again until this Fall.
”We understand that we are asking PS3 and prospective PS3 users to wait a bit longer,” Sony Computer Entertainment Chief Executive Kazuo Hirai said in a statement.
“But we have come to the conclusion that we need more time to refine the service to ensure a more focused gaming entertainment experience than what it is today.”
IGN recently posted a developer diary on the upcoming Backbreaker game. The video is pretty impressive and shows a mini-game called Tackle Alley.
“All the tackles are different and generated on-the-fly, so you never know what’s going to happen. But whatever does happen – you know it’s unique to you. No-one else will have seen the same 100-yard run before!” - Backbreaker Devs
They’re definitely looking to bring new life to the football genre. Check it out:
If you’re still debating on getting Condemned 2: Bloodshot, here’s your chance to check it out without spending the bucks. The demo is now available on Xbox Live Marketplace. Go bust some heads!
Why the hell can’t we save sports games like football, baseball, etc halfway through a game?
I think gaming technology is far enough along that this should be pretty easy. I wouldn’t care if the save game is 5 megs, let me save my game so I can come back to it later.
